Participants and delegates attending the Trade Promotion and Investment Cooperation program in the celebration framework of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Malaysia
The event witnessed the participation of various government agencies and over 150 businesses from both domestic and international sectors, including more than 60 Malaysian businesses. Notably, the event was graced by the presence of the Malaysian Embassy, the Malaysian Consulate General, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Madtrade), and the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, creating a distinguished atmosphere and fostering economic relations between Vietnam and Malaysia. During their speeches, delegates emphasized the sustainable 50-year diplomatic relation between the two countries and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic cooperation in various fields, particularly in promoting bilateral trade between Vietnam and Malaysia. The event provided empowered businesses to explore the latest trends and developments in the Halal industry.
Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam, Dato’ Tan Yang Thai, emphasized the stronger tie between Vietnam and Malaysia.
Mr. Ambassador – Dato Tan Yang Thai praised the achievements made over the years and expressed the significance of this strong diplomatic relationship for both countries: "Malaysia and Vietnam share a warm and solid relationship, strengthened by the firm commitment of both sides to enhance bilateral relations for the benefit of our people and the region as a whole. Malaysia considers Vietnam a crucial partner. In terms of bilateral trade relations, Vietnam has consistently been among Malaysia's top trading partners. In 2022, Vietnam ranked as Malaysia's 12th largest trading partner, while Malaysia was the 9th largest trading partner of Vietnam globally. Among ASEAN nations, Vietnam stands as Malaysia's fourth largest trading partner, and Malaysia is the second largest trading partner of Vietnam. In the first half of 2023, Vietnam still remains among the top 15 largest trading partners of Malaysia. Despite slower growth due to global supply chain disruptions, Malaysia continued to be one of the largest foreign investors in Vietnam, with accumulated FDI capital exceeding USD 13 billion."
The Ambassador extended his gratitude to the program and stated, "I believe that today's program will provide many opportunities for participants to share experiences and knowledge, contributing to strengthening the relationship between Malaysian and Vietnamese businesses. Once again, I would like to congratulate the collaborative efforts of SEARAV, VUFO, VEDRI, VIENC, and VITD in organizing this event to promote trade and encourage businesses."

Malaysian Trade Consul, Rosmizah Binti Mat Jusoh highlighted that “Vietnam is an important trading partner for Malaysia. We look forward for more Malaysian products and brands in Vietnam, and conversely, we welcome Vietnamese products and brands in Malaysia."
In the context of the expanding and robust economic cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia, Ms. Rosmizah Binti Mat Jusoh also shared, 'Vietnam is an important trade partner of Malaysia. Therefore, in 1994, a trade office was established in Ho Chi Minh City, and this year marks 29 years of MATRADE's presence here.”
Regarding the program, she also shared, "Today's event serves as a platform for all of us to collaborate and achieve these goals. Ms. Kelly Luong, President of Vietnam International Trade Investment Development Club (VITD), has always been aiming to introduce Vietnamese products into the Halal market.
Ms. Kelly Luong, also the CEO of Beyond World Company, with many years of experience in promoting investment and trade in the Malaysian market, has connected businessed from both sides, provided consultancy support, and facilitated numerous large Malaysian corporations to invest in Vietnamese market. Likewise, she has facilitated the export of Vietnamese products to Malaysia and the Halal market.During the event, she shared, "As one of the pioneering businesses in promoting trade and investment in Malaysia and in the world, I do hope that Vietnamese businesses will genuinely be interested and take the opportunity to explore and export their products to Malaysia in specific and to the Halal market in general." She further added, "Malaysia is Vietnam's second-largest trading partner within ASEAN, and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Malaysia has proved to be a vibrant playground for Vietnamese businesses."
